Any download page showing these signs is one to close immediately:

• "Disable Play Protect / allow unknown sources" as step one. Legitimate apps never need your security turned off.
• A login form on the download page. Real mods don't need your TikTok credentials; phishing pages do.
• SMS, accessibility, or device-admin permission requests. A video app has no business asking for these — they're the permissions toll-fraud and spyware want.
• "TikTok Pro" or "premium unlocked" branding. There's no such official product; the name is a classic scam wrapper.
• Countdown timers, fake version numbers, "only 3 downloads left." Pressure tactics, not software distribution.

If you already installed one

Don't panic — act in this order: 1. Uninstall the modded app. 2. Run a Google Play Protect scan (Play Store → profile → Play Protect → Scan). 3. Change your TikTok password from a clean device. 4. Turn on two-factor authentication. 5. Check Settings → Security → manage devices/sessions and remove anything you don't recognize. If you entered payment details anywhere suspicious, watch your statements.

The account-ban reality

Using modified TikTok clients violates the Terms of Service. Detection is automated and penalties include suspension or permanent ban. There is no official support channel for mod-related bans — another reason the "free unlock" is never free.
